Legal services in English for matters in Lithuania

This page is for English-speaking clients resolving a legal matter in Lithuania: divorce and child-related matters, inheritance with assets or heirs in Lithuania, real estate transactions and construction disputes, contract issues, civil and commercial litigation. The firm works with foreign nationals living in Lithuania, Lithuanians living abroad, and families and businesses whose matters involve both jurisdictions.

Start by submitting a short description of your situation. APB first completes a conflict check and then confirms the appropriate consultation format, scope and fee. Depending on the confirmed format, the consultation may address a specific question, a broader situation or an agreed scope of document analysis.

Consultations are held in English or Lithuanian — at the office in Kaunas (Kęstučio g. 59-12) or remotely by video call. For clients abroad, most matters can be handled through a power of attorney, without travelling to Lithuania.

Consultation formats and fees

Short legal consultation of up to 30 minutes — EUR 100.
For a specific question or a clearly defined limited-scope situation where no prior document analysis is required.

Initial legal consultation — EUR 200.
For a broader situation. The consultation format and, where appropriate, a limited-scope document review are agreed in advance.

More extensive document analysis and consultation — from EUR 350.
The exact fee is determined by the number and complexity of the documents and the scope of analysis required.

Hourly rate for legal services — from EUR 200 per hour.

For complex, urgent or larger-scope matters, an individually determined hourly or fixed fee applies.

A consultation and document analysis are standalone legal services. Their fees are not automatically credited against the fee for later legal services.

The final scope, fee and additional expenses are set out in an individual proposal.

The final consultation format, scope and fee are confirmed by APB before a time is reserved. Submitting your situation does not itself reserve a consultation time or mean that the engagement has been accepted.

What we can help you with

We help clients protect their rights and pursue legitimate interests. We provide consultations, prepare legal and court procedural documents, and represent clients in negotiations, mediation, pre-trial and court proceedings.

Our main practice areas include:

Each situation is assessed individually — we focus on clear next steps, realistic prospects and cost transparency.

How the process works

Start by sending a short description of the situation, the names of opposing and related parties, any important deadline or urgency, and the type, number and approximate length of the documents. Do not send document files at this stage.

  1. APB completes a conflict check.
  2. If the appropriate format is unclear, APB may ask no more than one substantive routing question.
  3. Documents are requested only after the conflict check and only if they are needed to confirm the scope.
  4. APB confirms the consultation format, scope and fee.
  5. Only then are booking and payment details provided.

A scope review covers the type, number, structure and volume of documents. It does not include a free substantive assessment of the legal merits of the matter.

Substantive document review begins only after the scope has been confirmed. For urgent deadlines, please state the date in your first message.

Legal services in Kaunas and beyond

Our office is located at Kęstučio st. 59–12, Kaunas 44303, Lithuania, however we also provide services in proceedings taking place in other cities. A significant part of court proceedings currently take place remotely, therefore travelling to another city is often unnecessary. Advocates can participate in hearings remotely, which typically does not create additional costs for the client.

We consult clients and prepare various documents, including court procedural submissions. We also represent clients in negotiations, mediation, pre-trial and court proceedings, and other state institutions.

The key principles of our work are:

  • direct and personal communication between the client and the advocate providing the service;
  • mutual trust between the client and the advocate.

Why clients choose us

Legal positions are built on verified sources — current Lithuanian legislation, Supreme Court of Lithuania (LAT) case law and the documents in your file — with specific references rather than general assurances. You are told what the evidence supports, what it does not, and where the main risks are — before they become procedural problems. Procedural deadlines and court requirements are tracked and communicated in advance.

You communicate directly with the attorney handling your matter, not through intermediaries. Options are explained in plain English — what each path costs, how long it takes and what it realistically achieves — so decisions stay with you and rest on complete information. You are informed of case developments as they happen, and documents you sign are explained before signature, not after.

Before any work begins, the scope and applicable fee are agreed. Consultation formats and fees are stated on this page. Further work may be priced on an hourly or fixed-fee basis depending on scope. Court fees, translations, expert valuations and other third-party costs are stated separately in the individual proposal.
